Why do we need a new way to clean our garments?

The professional garment care industry is currently experiencing one of the greatest periods of change since it began. Four forces are driving this change:

  1. Environmental
  2. Regulatory
  3. Technology
  4. Health

These changes come from the fact that dry cleaners are one of the largest users of chlorinated solvents and unlike other users of similar products are located mostly in residential communities. 85% of dry cleaners use the toxic solvent perc. This solvent has been linked to numerous health and environmental problems.

The wet cleaning process was first developed in Germany in the early 1990's and was introduced in the USA several years later. Today's third generation of wet cleaning uses state of the art process technology which can not only compete with traditional solvent based dry cleaners, but has far more advantages:

  • Non toxic solvents
  • Products are environmentally friendly
  • No chemical odor
